The Holidays are Almost Here!

It's rather hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here! I feel like this year has absolutely flown by! Since everyone is starting to get into the holiday spirit, I though I would share a few Thanksgiving ideas this week, along with, a CUTE outfit idea!

Who doesn't look forward to the wonderful meal that is always promised by this holiday? Besides getting to see lots of family we don't see very often, the meal is my favorite part!

I was on Pinterest a few days ago and found a super easy idea for little Thanksgiving cookies! You just take a Keebler fudge stripe cookie, turn it upside down, put a little icing in the middle, and stick a mini-Reese's cup on top! Add an orange chiclet and you have an easy, tasty Pilgrim hat dessert!

Now, I don't know about anyone else, but when I am planning my Thanksgiving outfit, there are 2 requirements: a. Cute and Stylish b. Expandable! We all know everyone usually ends up eating a little too much and I hate being uncomfortable in my own clothes! So, you can still look super fashionable while having a little room to fit in all of your Thanksgiving dinner favorites! Below is an entire outfit put together that is comfy, yet still stylish! It would be easy to re-create this outfit with pieces you already have since it is based on a neutral color palette!

Effortless Fall Hairstyles

Tired of wearing your hair the same, boring way everyday? Don't have a lot of time to spend on fixing your locks? There are so many cute, different ways to style your hair that require little to no styling skills at all!

Take for instance this sweet little twist and pin! It's perfect for those days when you just want to hit the snooze button one more time but still want to look presentable for work or school! Start by parting your hair on the side. Then take a small section of hair from behind your left ear, twist and pin it to your neckline. Do the same for behind your right ear. Lastly, separate the rest of your hair equally and repeat!

I found this next little style floating around on pinterest, and it looks too easy NOT to try! The only supplies you need for this coil-style are bobby pins, a teasing comb, and hairspray!

New Arrivals!

We got in lots of new arrivals today! Unfortunately, we were a little short-staffed, so we didn't get to take pictures of everything on one of our employees yet. We've got a few new arrivals that will be posted to facebook tonight, but in the meantime, here are some of the items we didn't have a chance to photograph yet!

Just because this new dress from Envi has a little purple & orange in it doesn't mean that it has to be reserved for gamedays AT ALL! It's great for just about anything and can be dressed up or down. Here, we've shown it on our mannequin with our basic orange belt, but it comes with a sash of its own if you're not into belts.

Here's another dress from Envi... This one is a faux wrap style in a blue & grey leopard print that's very versatile.

You'll get to see how adorable this Sao Paulo skirt is tomorrow when we take a picture of it on Jennifer (She's Miss Aiken SC USA and will be competing in the Miss SC USA pageant next month -- click her name and you'll be taken to her facebook page).

One Trend Three Ways: Animal Print

One trend that always seems to pop up during the fall season is animal prints!! It is one of my favorites because it is so easy to use animal prints to dress up an otherwise boring, plain outfit! Last week we got in a huge shipment of tights, including LEOPARD print tights! They are super adorable, and even the celebs like Kourtney Kardashian are loving the leopard print!

Another fun, yet easy way to wear the trend is by throwing on accessories like scarves. Not only do they keep your neck warm when it's cool out, but they add a little punch of fun! For some reason, animal print scarves have always made outfits look more upscale and expensive without the expensive price tag!

If you're a little more daring and like to be bold with your outfits, try going with an all-over animal print dress! The one shown below is a Laundry by Design piece that is flattering for virtually all skin colors and body types! It's also super comfy!

Fun & Simple DIY Project!

Today I wanted to share with our readers a project that I completed a couple of weeks ago that was so much fun! I found an old picture frame at a local thrift store that had no glass or anything with it for only $2! I hate that I didn't take a before picture because it was truly hideous: gold paint that was chipping and turning green... completely gross-looking! I knew this piece had potential, it just needed a little primer, paint, and glaze! I had seen some picture on Etsy and different blogs about people turning old frames into earring holders by adding a piece of screen to the back of the frame. If you are like me and have entirely too many earrings and no where to store them, this will be the perfect DIY for you!

I definitely recommend using spray Kilz primer. It is so easy to spray your pieces instead on using a brush and trying to get in all the little nooks and crannies if your piece has lots of detail. You can get it for around $7 at Walmart or Lowe's, and there will be plenty left for several projects.

I started out by spraying my frame with 2 coats of this primer. It doesn't take too long to dry, only about an hour or so. Once it was completely dry, I started spraying on my color: Krylon Ocean Blue. I had seen a ton of projects in the blog world done in this color and knew I just had to try it! Krylon makes a ton of different spray paint colors. I found this one at Walmart for about $4 and there is plenty left to do about 5 more earring holders!

Once the paint was finished drying, I added a piece of screen that I found from an old door underneath my house. I measured the amount I would need and used gorilla glue to hold it in the back. If you have a staple gun you could probably use that too, but my frame was a bit fragile and I didn't want to risk cracking it.

The next step is completely optional: glazing your piece! I love the shabby-chic look that the glaze gives it. I used Valspar Tintable Glaze from Lowes with a coffee-bean colored tint added. The can of glaze is a little more expensive: about $15, but i used a tiny, tiny amount for this project and have so much left for future uses! I really just globbed it on the frame, let it sit for about 10 minutes and then wiped away the excess with an old rag. You can leave as much or as little glaze on there as you would like, and it's really easy to add more! The glaze takes a little longer to dry. I would let it sit overnight before hanging it or displaying it however you choose! Here is the finished product! Sorry for the bad picture quality, I took it with my phone!

Classy, vintage styles from fashion's past usually creep their way back into popular modern pieces. Take tweed for example; it used to be that women seen in tweed were viewed as matronly and frumpy. Now, if worn properly, it can look elegant and sophisticated while still being fun! I think people of by-gone eras of tweed just weren't sure how to wear it. One classic, iconic trend setter who actually wore tweed very well during her time was Jackie O. I don't think I have ever seen an ugly picture of her!

Packing for the Beach

Call me crazy, but I like to plan out each outfit, jewelry, shoes and all before I go to the beach to ensure that I have exactly what I need. This past week I started working on this process and taking pictures of my complete outfits.

For a night out:

I chose this lovely Ark & Co. cut out dress (that we no longer have in the store) for a dress to wear out one night because it is formal enough for the beach and the cutouts will keep me cool in the hot weather. We have several other cutout dresses in stock that would make a perfect dress for the beach! I paired it with our flat braided sandals because I'm not trying to dress it up too much with heels. I choose a simple black earring and studded leather wrap bracelet. Lastly, I choose a small black leather purse with a gold chain because I don't want something bulky...I won't need to bring too much out at night with me and definitely don't want a heavy purse rubbing my freshly suntanned shoulders!

For daytime adventures:

If you haven't gotten one of these Free People lace tanks, you are missing out!! Whichever color seamless tank you layer underneath changes the entire look and color of the tank! We still have one in the color you see here and several in the ivory color for only $36! I choose to keep the color of this tank its original color by layering a nude seamless skinny strap tank underneath with patchwork Free People shorts. On the right side, I have a loose see-through We The Free top in case it is a little breezy and I want more coverage to layer over the tank. I paired this with my gladiator sandals to give it a more bohemian look.

Siobhan & I went to the Atlanta Apparel Market last week and found some great clothes that we think you are going to enjoy this fall-not to mention some great denim!

Polish Those Nails!

I moved this past month and my new roommate keeps a large plastic container under our coffee table of all the finest colors in OPI, Essie, & other great nail polish lines. I was thrilled to see the collection of over 50 polishes, but what girl wouldn't be? I always enjoy winding down after a day at work with a dose of E! News to catch up on the latest fashions...and maybe a glass of wine :) What better time to do my nails and pamper myself too!

Now, deciding what color to use.....
Deciding what color polish to wear can sometimes be difficult when there is so many to choose from but I always try to make sure my finger and toe nail polish colors complement each other. There is no "wrong" color to wear, but different shades standout for different seasons. If you have gotten your June issue of People Stylewatch, on page 94 they have sandals & toenail polishes that make great combinations for a standout look.
Here are a few easy ones to try out:

[Two nights ago I painted my nails with Essie in Tart Deco. It was originally a coral color but once I finished it with the clear coating it turned into a neon orange...either way, I love it! You can hardly see my toe nail color, but it's a beautiful cobalt blue color from Sally Hansen-sorry ladies, but this color is no longer sold!]

All this talk about nail polish makes me want to go add to my collection! On the top of my list is the OPI Katy Perry Collection in Black Shatter. I have heard great things about this polish because it is very easy nail art that you can do in minutes and transform your favorite shade. To use it, apply the shatter coat over your favorite shade of nail polish...it'll break up into a unique leopard-like pattern!

I encourage everyone to get together your nail polishes, Q-tips, cotton balls & nail polish remover and put together a kit to keep somewhere easily accessible. If you don't already have a large collection of nail polish, I suggest trying to get a few shades in each color category. Don't go for all pinks & reds, try a purple, blue, green, etc.

How to Wear:
Don't overdo your blue ensemble. If you plan to wear blue from head to toe, you will look like a lady smurf! Try to keep things minimal and simple. If you have a solid blue dress, like pictured, try nude shoes with gold earrings. If you are confident enough, pair it with bright colored shoes!
If you decide to pair with blacks, the cobalt blue is an easy color to wear. It is perfect for any occasion-day or night. It is versatile and can be worn to casual or formal events.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Thanks to everyone who made it out to our first tent sale this past weekend! We still have goodie bags to give & a free t-shirt for purchases over $75! For those of you who came out, you know the food was delicious! We brought back everyone's favorite dish from our previous sale, Kelin's Ranch Dip, and also had a new dish, Buffalo Chicken Dip, that was voted another favorite from our customers and employees. Many people wanted the recipe so I will share it with you!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Ingredients:
3 chicken breasts
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup ranch dressing
1/2 cup hot sauce
8 oz. cream cheese
Scoops, celery, and/or fritos

1.
Boil the chicken breasts. Once they are done & completely white in the center, drain the water out and let the chicken cool. (If you want to skip this step, you can purchase a rotisserie chicken from the deli and move to step 2)
2.
Shred the chicken into small pieces. This can take a little while so hang in there!
3.
Mix all the ingredients together and smooth out evenly in a 9 x 13 glass dish. (You can also add a layer of shredded cheese to the top!)
4.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

How to Clean Your Favorite Fashion Jewelry

Do you have select pieces of special jewelry that is worn weekly-maybe daily? It's not long before these turn into a collection of tarnished chains, rusty necklaces and dingy pearls. Don't worry you aren't alone! Because contact with makeup, heat and air may dull and darken your favorite jewelry, all budget fashionistas need a quick guide on how to clean fashion jewelry without spending a lot of cash. No need to give your local jeweler a call because you can use common household products to clean your bling bling at home...for less!

Things You Will Need to Clean Fashion Jewelry:

Cornstarch
Alcohol
Talcum powder
Warm water
Towel
Cold water
Soft cloth
Mild liquid detergent or soap
Woolite
Cotton bag
Ammonia
Jeweler's cloth

MAKE YOUR PEARLS SHINE!
[This may come in handy with The Carolina Cup just around the corner!]

Combine 1 tablespoon of mild liquid soap or Woolite in a cup of warm water. Immerse your pearls in the sudsy mixture for 20 to 30 seconds. Gently dab your pearls with a clean cloth to remove excess moisture. Lay your precious jewels flat on a small towel to dry. **To prevent scratching of the surface, store your pearls in a small cotton jewelry pouch, away from your other jewelry.

REMOVE KINKS OUT OF CHAINS!

For tangled and knotted chains, first sprinkle them with talcum powder or cornstarch to untangle. If your knot is large or super tight, push a small straight stick pin through the middle of the tangled metal. Turn and twist the pin gently to free the tangle in the knotted chain. **To avoid discoloring and tarnishing of your favorite jewelry, store your baubles in a padded box or velvet-lined jewelry sleeve after each wearing. You won't have to clean it as often.

CLEAN YOUR GOLD FASHION JEWELRY WITH AN AMMONIA SOLUTION

Want to spruce up your jewelry before a hot night on the town? Mix 2 tablespoons of liquid detergent (like Dove or Dawn), 2 cups of warm water and 1 to 4 drops of ammonia into a plastic bowl. Soak your gold chains, rings or bracelets in the solution for a MAX of 10 minutes. Once they have soaked, rinse the jewelry in warm water to get rid of the ammonia residue. Rinse your gold jewelry in alcohol to add shine!

CLEAN YOUR SILVER FASHION JEWELRY WITH LIQUID SOAP & WATER

To clean your silver chains, bracelets, and earrings, use 4 to 5 drops of liquid soap and 2 cups of lukewarm water. Then, rinse them in a cold stream of running water and then blot with a dry towel. For stubborn stains, mix up a paste of 3 parts baking soda with one part water. First, wet your silver jewelry with a stream of cold water from your facet. Smooth the baking soda and water paste on the jewelry with a soft and clean cloth. Rinse your jewelry completely and dry on a flat small towel.

Who is the new owner of McAuleys? And what does she do there?

As most of you already know, Missy is no longer the owner of McAuley's. I realize very few of you actually know who I am, and since Missy's letter in January promised a blog introducing me, I figured it was about time. Some of you are probably wondering, "Who is the new owner of McAuley's? And what does she do there if she doesn't work in the store?" First of all, my name is Kelin Quigley. Other details: I'm 28, recently engaged, mother of an adorable schnauzer named Ruby, attended Clemson for YEARS but never graduated, employed at McAuley's since August of 2006.

Now... Moving on from personal things and on to McAuley's. As you know, I don't work in the store, and I never have. In addition to the responsibilities that come along with business ownership, I've retained all of my previous duties as an employee of McAuley's, including the accounting, website maintenance & order fulfillment, and facebook. If you click the live chat button on our website, I'm the one who answers. For (almost) every product you see on the website, I took the pictures and put it up on the website. If you place a website order, I'm the one who charges, packages, and ships it. There's much more I do, but it's far less interesting and would not make for a very exciting blog. So, I'll show you where I work! I always enjoy seeing behind the scenes pictures, so I'm hoping some of you might too. I've been on an organizing kick this week trying to make it faster and easier to get things done, and I'm pretty proud of what I've accomplished. If you're one of our many online customers who've never actually seen or been to the store, I'm sure you'll be surprised to see we're not working with a big warehouse and a huge staff!

Spring Top 5 Essentials

When Spring comes, we often become overwhelmed with all the cute clothes and don't know what to buy on a budget! I hate after I get home from a long day of shopping and find that I have bought a lot of similar items or don't have the right accessories to pull an outfit together. It's been a long, cold winter, but Spring Break is finally here! For those of you spending a week in a warm and sunny place, here are some Spring-Break-I'm-going-to-paradise-and-I-need-to-look-great essentials!

Obviously, a bathing suit is the first thing on your packing list! There are lots of great places to shop for bathing suits, but I find it easiest to go to Target, your favorite department store, and Victoria's Secret because you know you are sure to find something between these 3 places!

Bandeaus with a medallion, buttons, beads, starfish, shells, etc. at the center is one of the hottest swim trends for 2011! Pictured above is a bathing suit I purchased from Victoria's Secret for my Miami trip. It has beading in the center of the top and on the sides of the bottoms.

Chances are you haven't had a chance to get in the sun yet, and if you're white as a ghost and ready to look sun-kissed, you will need an awesome spray tan! Skip the harmful UV rays at the tanning bed and try a self tanning spray such as Vicky's Secret. Speaking of harmful UV rays, you will want to avoid those as much as possible if you don't want to look like a raisin by the time you are 30. Sunscreen is a must!

I love using Neutrogena Ultra Sheer UV Sunblock. It is not sticky and doesn't leave you feeling yucky. It is easy to wash off after a long day at the pool or beach which means you can go from day to night easily and comfortably.

If you don't like to apply sunscreen to your face as often as you know you should, try wearing a chic, floppy sun hat. We just got some great ones in this past week, all under $25! Click here to check them out!

They are great to wear to the pool, beach, or out and about during the day. Even if you aren't in a bathing suit by the pool, you are still getting lots of sun on your face & need to be protected from the UV rays. You will be stylish and stand out!

Time to put up the boots and get a pedicure because your toes won't be covered up anymore! Sandals are another warm weather necessity, so why not trade in those old rubber ones for some that are stylish enough to wear during the day and for dinner or a night out on the town?

DASH Miami

I've been in Miami the past 5 days so that is why you haven't been hearing much of anything from me on here, twitter, and facebook but I am back now & have some exciting things to share with you! Yesterday, we went to the Kardashian's DASH store. They had such cute clothes, but we were hurried to make our flight so we didn't get to spend much time there trying on. I bought a t-shirt with their logo on it for $60 & silly bands that were shapes of them & other things to do with fashion for $10 (hehe, don't think i'll ever really wear them).

This is my sister and me standing out front of the store. It is located on a busy street in Miami called Washington Ave. We were unsure of exactly where it was so after grabbing a bite to eat we walked about 10 blocks to find it.

I haven't blogged in a while, but now I'll be making a post every Saturday! Yay! The best day of the week! So, of course, since I haven't been able to share my most favorite new trend, I thought I'd showcase my recent fav...

I just love, love, love this concept! A sweet scallop, mixed with a lot of leg, throw in a high waist...& there you go! Sweet, sexy, and trend-setting! You can make these pieces as dressy or as casual as you want. For a casual look, tuck in a tank, throw a striped cardigan on over it & a pair of gladiator sandles! You can even make a semi-formal look with the black ones...just tuck in a pretty silk top, lots a pearls, & stunning shoes...there you go!

Do it Yourself: Recycle & Recreate Cork Wedges

Last night I was packing for Miami and going through all the shoes I want to take and came across my most comfortable shoes. When I looked at them I couldn't help but make a face of disgust because the cork wedge was torn & worn. I knew I could never wear them again because they were not presentable but I hated to see them go because they were my go-to shoes. I knew it would look worse if I tried to get paint or a sharpie the same color to fill in the spots that were messed up.

If I was going to throw them away, I had nothing left to loose by trying to give them a fresh paint job. Sooo, I choose to give it a go and paint the wedges gold. I used a little bottle of regular acrylic paint that you can get for about a $1 at craft stores. It was fast and easy and now they are fresh and new! I am not sure if I am happy with the exact gold color. I may go buy a different gold to use overtop with less bronze. But I am pleased that I was able to restore my favorite wedges! You should try this too!

Spring 2011 Color Trends

With 2011's fashion trends on the horizon, it is time to look forward to this season's color trends that many designers and labels are using to shape their collection. This year's colors were chosen to give an "uplifting" and "soften, energize, and excite" mentality due to the recent financially tough times. The new spring colors are mostly named after flowers which include: iris, viola, daffodil, poppy, and geranium.

Ok, so here's the deal...
Judith March came out with a new style dress that gives you limitless options. You will see below several different patterns & colors they have in the dress. Each dress comes with the neck piece shown on the orange dress. You can then purchase other neck pieces to make the dress look completely different. This way you can wear the same dress with different neck pieces at the beach, to a wedding, carolina cup, or anywhere else you can imagine! But it doesn't stop there...they also have a wooden beaded neck piece that you can change out the flower attached to it OR you can wear it as a necklace or bracelet. Pretty exciting huh?

(This is the basic neck piece that will come with each dress.)

This is one of our favorite dresses. I love the colors because it looks great on dark or fair skin and with light or dark hair.

They now have shorts! The length is perfect and the details on the back pockets are to die for! They carry these in 3 different patterns. We are sure to get these in!

Hello everyone!
Hope you are having a great Monday morning! I know I am having a busy one! Siobhan, Missy, and I were at the Atlanta Market this past weekend. We saw so many great lines, & amazing clothes! I wanted to share a different line each day with you to let you see what you can expect this spring & summer. Let me know what you think, what you like, and dislike. Every time I go to market, my friends always ask what it is like & where it is held & are always curious about it so I thought today I would show you where it is held.

This is the center of the main floor where they have fashion shows throughout the day to preview the upcoming trends. Judith March sponsored the fashion show this year and showed off tons of new styles that we will be showing you tomorrow!

Each floor has showrooms all the way around so you can only imagine how fast pace we must be in order to see everything we want to see!

sour cream (16 oz)

how to: repair a shattered eyeshadow

While stumbling on the internet I found a really helpful how to. It may be a fun thing to do if you are snowed in the house like I am right now! It will help you preserve your sanity and hard earned dollars. Do you ever break your eyeshadow? Like, drop it on the ground or shatter it? It's heartbreaking, especially when you've forked over serious money for the good stuff. I've thrown away hundreds of dollars in makeup because I've shattered it doing who knows what.

I'm here to tell you how to repair it!

What you will need:

shattered eyeshadow
coin
rubbing alcohol
tissue
butter knife
medicine squirter
plastic bag or plastic wrap

Step 1:
Place the shattered makeup carefully into the plastic bag holding the plastic carefully over the top.

Step 2:
Hold the plastic tightly across the top of the eyeshadow and with the back of the butter knife smash all the remaining bits of eyeshadow into a fine powder.

Step 3:
When the eyeshadow looks like this, you're ready to go. Pull the eyeshadow out of the plastic bag.

Step 4:
Using the medicine squirter, put a couple squirts of rubbing alcohol into the broken eyeshadow. Make sure the eyeshadow is completely saturated with the rubbing alcohol.

Step 5:
Now put the tissue on top of the eyeshadow and put the coin on top of that. Press down with all the force in the world. You're re-compacting the eyeshadow, so don't by shy.

Step 6:
Enjoy your new eyeshadow!

Isn't that awesome! I've just did it on my M.A.C. blush.

Tailgating Tent

We only have one more Clemson home football game-that means only one more chance to come see our tailgate at Friar's Tavern & get a free koozie! Behind the Scenes

After a long week of hard work and creativity, we pulled it off!
This past Sunday we had a photoshoot that went amazing. Inspired by the Juicy Couture Ads, I had a vision of doing a fun and funky photoshoot that is totally different from any McAuley's shoot before. Missy and I spent hours on Thursday night styling the outfits, hair and make-up. We used Missy and Trey's huge Warehouse located in downtown Anderson, South Carolina.
The day started off a little rocky when our hair stylist had a miscommunication with how many models we would need styled and my camera was no where to be seen. The girls were at the salon for longer than we had expected but Hannah got them done and it didn't put us too far behind. While that was going on, I had misplaced my camera from using it the day before at our Clemson Tailgate. I started to panic but discovered it was at my house in Clemson which was at least thirty minutes away. There was no way I had an hour to spare and go get it so my amazing boyfriend drove it out to me. With that behind us, we were ready to go.

Tomorrow we will be putting out lots of new dresses-perfect for Clemson game days or any occasion! Here are a few pictures to see what we have....

This is after I steamed all of the clothes. As you can see, we got in lots of one shoulder designs. I love the one shoulder elvis print judith march dress on the front! I think I may buy it to wear on my 21st birthday in mid November. I like the pattern also broken up by a belt.

This is a beautiful vintage inspired dress that is comfy but stylish with the ruffle detail. I tried it with the double wrap braided belt in camel and it looked great together.

Here is another one of the great Judith March dresses we got! It is not only comfortable but also great to pair with your favorite pair of boots!

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Don't forget to check out your local fundraisers and events to help out! If you are available this weekend and are in South Carolina, the Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure is going to be held on October 16th in Charleston/Daniel Island. It would be a fun way to get involved!
Another great way to show your support is to wear the color pink to raise awareness. We have lots of great pink-whether it's a top or bottom, or accessories to add a punch! Check it out!

I know it is early....but I always begin Christmas shopping a little earlier than most people-which means NOW! :) Wrapping is often seen as a task but if you get a head start then you will have time to enjoy the creative side of giving your gift. I feel like the wrapping is just as important as the gift itself. As it gets a little closer, I will show you several different techniques and ways to create bows out of ribbon, tissue, & tulle! Pictured are a few packages I enjoyed wrapping this past week for a birthday gift. I used a vintage ribbon I purchased at a local thrift store with natural looking brown paper for the large one. On the smaller one, I used tulle to create a full, fluffy bow. You can recycle everyday objects, such as paper bags && old fabric, to wrap your gifts!

New Month New Holiday

Wow! This month flew past! In two more days it will already be October. You know what that means-time to pull out your fall clothes and decorate for the holidays. One of my favorite holidays is Halloween because I love to dress up. I haven't decided on what to be this year but I need to decide soon so I can begin to make my outfit because homemade ones are the best! Asheton, an employee here at McAuley's, is going to be a disco fever girl. She ordered a vintage velvet one piece with a sequined top along with a crazy huge wig and giagantic gold hoops. She had a great idea of painting "Play that funky music White Boy" on the back with gold paint with "White Boy" written across her butt. I painted it this past weekend and here is a sneak preview of it:

Last year I needed a last minute costume and did a simple Whoville outfit by putting on a onesie sleep piece, and covering a tall cup up with my hair and tied it with a bow. It was an easy, cheap costume that worked because while I was out I ended up finding Thing 1 and Thing 2!

French Connection does it AGAIN!

French Connection....their clothes are a gift from God! As I have said in many blogs before, they are one of my favorite lines! Their fit is always on target and their designs are always unique! We have gotten in so many great things from this clothing line lately! Their angel-winged collection is one of my new loves.....

I LOVE all of the pieces in this "Winter Wings" story! The black sweatshirt is a beautiful top! With the winged sequin detail on the shoulders, and the sparkling applique on the front, it gives this true sweatshirt top a unique and flashy appeal! I love it when you find a cute sweatshirt that was made into a beautiful piece of fashion! It's so easy to wear those things when you don't want to look overdressed, but still want to remain the most trendy & chic gal at the gathering! The Iron Eagle dress is AMAZING in person! So much detail goes into this dress! You have the most perfectly balanced mixture of metal and sequins, making it so easy to funk this one up, or wear it for a cocktail occasion! Throw a leather jacket over this girl and you have a hot-to-trot look! And the Winter Wings Tee...I love my unique tee's!! The sequined applique make this cream tinted tee stand out! The deep v-neck on this one allows you to steam up your look (pair it with skinny's and heels), or throw a black tank on underneath if you want to tone down the steam a little:-) The fit of this one is a little more relaxed, letting your look come off as super edgy and fun! I can't get enough of all these pieces, or French Connection!

This is a MAJOR employee favorite, and may be my most favorite piece EVER by French Connection.....EVER!! This is leather done at it's best! I don't think I have even seen a celebrity in magazines wear one cuter than this! For me, black leather has to be a little "girlie" for me to feel trendy in it. It's easy to give off the punkish vibe, but kind of hard to feel "cutesy". This jacket makes every look so easy to pull off! The cropped length and sleeve makes it easy to pair with dresses and tops...but the semi-puff shoulders, oh yes the shoulders, give this jacket the AAAHH factor! It looks amazing on EVERYONE who has tried it and is definitely the most CUTEST piece of leather artwork I have EVER seen!

Fitness Fashion Dilemma!

Ok, I am NOT, nor have I ever been, a workout kind of girl. However, I am turning over a new leaf. I'm getting to that age where no physical activity=sore and achy bones! Well, I have a GREAT boyfriend who bought me a membership to the YMCA yesterday! I am very excited, however, just realized I have no workout clothes! I know what your thinking, t-shirt and shorts right? Easy! Well...not so easy for me. I can't wear just any kind of short, it has to be the tight fitted kind, because cotton ones would go up my butt and I would be tugging at them the whole time instead of working out. And about just wearing a t-shirt (which I have 1000 of), that doesn't work either because I sweat like a man! I know that it's okay for sweat to show through your shirt (it's a gym, and everybody does it), but big and baggy tee's make me very hot! So, I was left with a workout wardrobe dilemma and decided to google "celebrities going to the gym"....and....I didn't have much luck getting ideas. Instead, I was STUNNED at what some of these celebrites wore in public, let alone to work out in!

Really? Who would wear this? If you wear this to the gym, with the matching accessories, you need to stop!

Miley looks like she is taking the "walk of shame" home from her boyfriend's house...

Leave it to Fergie to wear a velour romper with sequins, a glorified workout fanny pack, and large headphones!

First off...Ashley "really" works out in these shoes? And how can she get a productive workout when she's having to pull her shirt back up on her shoulder the whole time! Just wondering....

I don't understand some of these workout clothes. I mean, they are celebrities, so they know they will probably be photographed....

But I think stuff like what Kim is wearing will be the best for me. It takes a lot for me to work out (but now, since I had someone buy the membership for me, that kinda means I HAVE to go). I am not someone who loves to sweat, and working out won't make me feel any different towards that. I know its part of the package, I will sweat which is fine, I just mean that I won't be layering on extra clothes in order to increase my sweating....yuk! That would mean breakout city! Well, wish me luck! I'll need it!

You have a while before the game starts tonight, so for everyone who didn't go to Auburn, stop in and grab some quick & cute cheapies! I LOVE this scarf, and its so easy to wear! You can take an average, solid top, throw this statement scarf around your neck, and your Clemson outfit is complete! This is such an easy and reasonable buy! Perfect for hot & cold weather!

I LOVE these clutches! They are so edgy & speak volumes when added to an outfit! Such a great match when paired with the chained scarf!

To wrap up this rocker-chic Clemson collection, this studded purse is AMAZING! It's a perfect add-on to any casual outfit!

The great thing about all of these accessories is that you can wear all of them during the off season too! The chain scarves are my absolute favorite! So funky and unique!

Dog Divas!

If any of you know me, then you know that I LIVE for my poodle, Bailey. I got her in December of 2005 and my life has never been the same!

When I worked at McAuley's daily, she was ALWAYS working with me. She would lay on the stool, in front of the register, & work by my side all day. Many customers knew her on a first name basis. She was such a hard little retail worker.

However, this is the position she would end up in by the end

of the day...

I DID consider myself a good mother to her. I would clothe her for the appropriate occasions/condidtions....

THEN, I came across TRUE diva doggy fashion! After looking at the following dog fashion show, put on by the Fashion Institute for Technology in NY, I felt like the worst mom EVER for letting my poo-girl go out of the house in some of the outfits I have made her wear! Look at these pooches truly do fashion!

The students of the Fashion Institute designed all of these clothes themselves! Check out the actual fashion show, it's the cutest thing ever!

I love dressing Bailey (she HATES it). Now, I have to step up my "cute" factor because obviously (from her previous fashion ensembles), I have some improvements to make in her closet:-)
